Cause
The Dawson Creek Firefighters are proud to support the creation of a dedicated Family Room at the new Dawson Creek Hospital, providing a space of comfort, privacy, and care for families during some of life’s most challenging times.
This initiative was deeply inspired by the experience of one of our own firefighters who suffered a serious on-the-job injury, and by seeing firsthand how meaningful a space like this was for their family throughout the recovery journey. It reinforced the importance of having a calm, supportive environment where loved ones can remain close, rest, and regroup while care is being provided.
The Firehouse Family Room is intended to offer families a quiet place to step away from the stress and emotion that often comes with hospital stays and medical emergencies. Whether it’s a moment to rest, gather their thoughts, share a meal, or simply take a breath in a more peaceful setting, this space will provide comfort and support when it is needed most.
The Dawson Creek Firefighters Charity is working alongside the Dawson Creek Hospital Foundation on this project, reflecting a shared commitment to compassion, care, and support for the Dawson Creek community.
